If you are interested in doing a Lower World Shamanic Journey I am attempting here to give you an instructional message. I suggest watching the video first then reading the text underneath.
Thanks for watching the video - I know it's a bit long. The remainder of this post will be to help guide you into how you can have a similar experience. So here we go -
Again let me say that how I currently perceive the shamanic journey is the following. A shamanic journey is a type of meditation in which you listen to a drum beat or some other kind of rhythmic music - perhaps even something with theta wave technology. Here is a link to get you started on finding these. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugOQMCP8C00 The video in this link is an hour long - which is probably way more time than you need. While you are starting out, I suggest setting an alarm of some kind on your phone and doing 10-15 min sessions.
Begin your journey with an intention. You may have a question that you want to ask - or you may want to meet your spirit guides for the first time like I am doing. You need to have something in your mind that you need an answer to or that you want help with.
You will get in a meditative position - seated or lying down - your preference. But you do not want to fall asleep. If you are new to meditation - you may want to do some basic meditations first for a day or two or maybe even a week or two and then come back to this. But if you know how to do just standard follow your breath kinds of meditation you'll be ok to try this.
Once you are in your meditative state you will start focusing on visualizations these will be specific visualizations that YOU create. I can give you guidance here but YOU have to do this. In the video, you may remember I said that I'm still working on making my personal environment more real and solid in my thoughts and mind. You will want to spend some time doing this as well. Granted - you may start meeting with guides right away, but don't neglect the task of making the basic environmental visualization as real as you possibly can. I usually spend my initial moments in my place doing just that - trying to solidify things - experience sounds, temperatures, lighting, smells, anything I can think of.
I mention in the video that I have a fairly elaborate setup to get me to this place in my visualizations where I actually meet my guides. I have recently been feeling that my setup is really too detailed in the beginning because the goal of the initial parts of the visualization is to move you from the middle world - (the world we live in) to the lower world (where you meet spirit guides). Keep in mind that this is all based on a shamanic kind of worldview - the lower world is like the spirit realm. It's not a negative place because it's "lower" don't get that thought in your mind. But you don't have to spend a lot of time in your starting area - you simply need to make it real and find your entry point. But I'm getting a little ahead of myself.
Once you get started in your visualization you want to find yourself in a natural setting - the forest is what I use - You can use any natural setting that you like really, just make it as real as you can. Then you want to come up to a hole in the ground - or it can be a cave - or a tree with a big opening at its base *(this is what I use)*
Once you approach the opening you'll go down into and it will be a stairway (I like a spiral) that leads down to another opening (for me the second opening is a door) when you come out of the second opening you enter another world. It will look like a normal world - it will have sky, earth, plants, everything. And again - you can create your own set here. Once you are out in the lower world now - find a spot that you want to use as a meeting place. Some ideas are - a campfire beneath a large tree - a trail that you walk on - a lake or pond - (I use a pond).
Make this place as real as possible in your mind. While you are working on this place you want to keep the thought prevalent in your mind that you would like to meet with your spirit guides. While you are here you may encounter spiritual light beings, you may encounter people who you know or knew or who look very familiar to you even though you're sure you haven't met. You may also encounter animal spirits - these can be guides, guardians or totem type animals for you. (There are differences :) )
Once you guides appear to you ask them "Do you have anything you want to tell me or show me?" You can also ask any other question you may have. Once you are finishing up your journey - don't just end it abruptly - be sure to thank your guides and thank the spirits for being there, for their presence and guidance and support. If you happen to get interrupted during one of these meditations and you haven't had the chance to thank them, I recommend trying your best to get back to your meditation and do so right away if possible. If you can not go back into your meditation simply take a few breaths and send your gratitude out for them and I believe that they will accept and appreciate it.
It is important to ease out of these meditations by going back through the passageway that you came through and back to the middle world. The bulk of your work is done in the lower world, but you should not leave your energy body there. Go back through the passage and come out again in the middle world. End your meditation there.
I hope this is helpful for you if you use this technique I would be very interested in hearing about it in the comments below!
Peace
